In March Mérida was treated to a weekend of amazing light installations all over the centre of the city.
The International Festival of Lights (FILUX) saw spaces in the centre transformed by beautiful lights; from giant bubbles in the Plaza Grande and laser beams shooting down Paseo Montejo to visual mapping on the front of Santa Ana church and psychedelic cactuses in Santa Lucia.
The streets were closed off to traffic and thousands of people came down to stroll along Calle 60 and up Paseo Montejo and admire the lights.
